Hey, the name's Lyn, Lyn Trainer and I'm a mutant, and one of the X-Men. I was born in Michigan to Elaine Trainer, my mom, my dad probably ditched her before she even got pregnant, I wouldn't know, he was never around. She tells me my dad was some secret agent sort of guy, called himself the White Ghost or something. She never did get his real name apparently.
I probably got my mutant side from him. Because my mom isn't a mutant. When I was around thirteen, I was attacked by an escaped tiger on a zoo trip, and these claws ripped out of my knuckles before I even knew what was happening. Hurt like hell. But then, when it was over, they withdrew back into my skin and the wounds healed. Apparently that's called a healing factor.
After that, my mom got a little freaked out and sent me to Xavier's School for Gifted Youths which is run by Hank McCoy Jr. the Beast II. It's a safe-house for mutant kids where they can be protected and learn how to use their powers and stuff, the really good ones are picked to join the X-Men. It was really big back in the day, or so they tell me. Mutants used to be in a lot more danger until President Pryde stepped up to office. That's why the X-men were needed, they used to fight for mutant rights. Things have settled down now, and the we're more of a special task force, but the X-Men are still legends. Most of them were annihilated before I was even born, you see. In this big battle with Cassandra Nova, Professor Xavier's, the founder of the school, evil twin sister.
I'm still in training, and I'm proud to be one of the X-Men. I have my suspicions that I was destined to be one. Wolverine used to have powers like mine. But I hear he was destroyed in Japan awhile ago, so I can't ask him. And he never went by anything as dorky as White Ghost, anyway.
Doesn't matter. I'm the new Wolverine, and I'll make sure I live up to that name.
Powers:
Lyn possesses the slightly augmented strength, speed, and endurance levels of the original Wolverine. These enable her peform acrobatic maneuvers that would be nearly impossible for a normal human. Her bone structure is also much more dense, making her more resilient to damage.
Lyn also possesses all the superhuman reflexes and senses of the original Wolverine. Her senses of smell and hearing are especially acute, making her an excellent tracker. Her reflexes are also extremely fast allowing her to dodge most projectiles.
Her claws are made of bone and have not been encased in Adamantium, (Weapon X was destroyed long ago) however, the bone they are made of is stronger and far more resilient than ordinary, allowing her to cut through a maximum of four inches of solid steel. They are even strong enough to wound mutants like Colossus, however this depends on the amount of pressure she can put on them. Being part of her own structure, her healing factor also applies, regrowing any portion of her claws should they be broken.
Her healing factor works in much the same way as Wolverine's did. However, heavy injury such as decapitation, drowning, or disintegration will kill her. She cannot regrow lost organs or bodyparts.
((Lyn is an original character, hailing from an amalgamation of the X-Men: The End and Wolverine: The End storylines. Her father is the deceased John Howlett III Wolverine's older brother. Mine, no taking please. Icons made by
